In 2023, Thrift Festivals have become a trend mostly amongst Gen Z because of inflation, low-quality fast fashion, and a lack of community. Eager for a change, young people began to normalize shopping at Thrift Festivals, which also

attracted many shoppers with optimistic, sociable, and creative personalities dressed as if they were from a different generation.

I used a film camera to document the happenings within the Thrift Festival because it further expresses Gen Z's transition from new to old items/fashion, and romanticizing everyday experiences of the previous generations.

Will Authenticity Make a Comeback?
