Want To Be Here
This series grew from my curiosity about how people create spaces of comfort and calm in a world that constantly asks more of us. I began by observing and listening to friends and acquaintances, learning how they unwind and where they feel most like themselves. These conversations shaped my approach to image-making and illustration.
Using analog color photography, I set out to capture environments and moments that embody a sense of personal sanctuary. The analog process itself encourages slowness and presence, allowing me to carefully consider each shot and fully experience the moments unfolding around me.
To deepen the emotional texture of the work, I screen-printed my floral-like figure illustrations directly onto the photographs. Inspired by emotion, the human life cycle, and quiet observation, these figures act as gentle interruptions—symbols of the internal states we carry with us, even in moments of rest.
Through this work, I hope to offer viewers a visual pause: a chance to reflect on their comfort rituals and the importance of softness, slowness, and personal sanctuary in a fast-paced world.
